Kiedy debiutancki album osiągnął sprzedaż ponad 17 mil. Egzemplarzy w 2 lata, musisz martwić się o beneficjant. Ok, więc mogą teraz rozpływać się w luksusie nie martwiąc o kasę, wynajmować autobus na każdą trasę, labo podróżować prywatnym odrzutowcem, ale jest jedna dręcząca myśl, ze musza poradzić sobie z tym- jak u diabła powtórzą ten trik. Nic nie może przygotować cię na takie rodzaj reakcji.

Czy nie mówiono, że Linkin Park jest rodzinno-przyjacielska stroną rocka dojrzałą do adnotacji produktów (jeśli potrzebują kasy). Powiedzieli, że są jedynie zainteresowani robieniem muzyki i przyjemności fonom i trudno im nie uwierzyć. Łatwo jest z nich drwić, ale oni są podręcznikowym pop rockowym zespołem XXI wieku.

I jeśli "Somewhere I Belong" jest dobrym znakiem ich nowego albumu "Meteora" wówczas za dwa lata może będziemy mogli napisać, "Kiedy drugi album osiągnął sprzedaż ponad 20mln egzemplarzy..."

When debut albums shift in excess of 17 million copies in two years you have to worry for the beneficiaries. Ok, so they can kick back in the lap of luxury with zero money worries, hire a tour bus each or travel by private jet but there's just one nagging thing they have to cope with - how the hell do they repeat the trick. Nothing can prepare you for that kind of reaction.

Having said that Linkin Park are the family-friendly side of rock music ripe for product endorsement (if they needed the cash). They say they're only interested in making music and pleasing their fans and it's hard not to believe them. It's easy to mock them but they are the textbook 21st century pop rock band.

And if 'Somewhere I Belong' is a good indication of their new album 'Meteora' then two years down the line we might be writing, "When your second album shifts in excess of 20 million copies..."
