The guests dissect, splice and suture the entire album in a fit of mad studio science that quickly gets out of hand. In the end, Reanimation is a Frankenstein's monster of disembodied riffs, loafing trip-hop beats, spastic electronics and witless rapping that is virtually unrecognizable and barely breathing. Chester Bennington's anguished man-child howling is largely left on the shelf, as are the thrusting hooks that were Linkin Park's big draw. Worse yet, the fans are left to wait that much longer for a batch of new tunes.
